Money Making CAN Be Child’s Play
a 4 Step Starter Plan for when our smart brains work against us…
The first thing a smart adult asks when trying to make new money is, “What makes money these days?”
It makes perfect sense for an adult to ask that question.
It’s also what keeps even the smartest people stuck.
Because there are literally a millie and one ways to make new money.
I’ve found the smarter a person is…
The more they torture their brains, applying a formula to ALL the ways they can make money.
Then…after many months of putting their brains on a rack and stretching the hell out of their grey matter…
If they do happen to have a mental breakthrough before they have a mental breakdown.
They find they don’t have any MOTIVATION actually to go out and make the new money.
Now they go buy every motivational book on Kindle.
When they run out of those, they buy “confidence” books.
If they still aren’t “motivated.”
Must be time to book a flight to a Tony Robbins event.
Fifty-eleven thousand dollars later…
Their idea is now saturated, outdated or they find a fatal flaw with their plan.
This is the “adult way” of making new money.
It’s logical.
It’s sequential.
It doesn’t work.
The path leads to too many choices and too little motivation and then a perfectly fine adult feels like a complete failure as a person.
What changes everything?
Coming at new money like a kid!
We all know how to make new money as a kid.
*We find someone we love or know really, really, well…(usually our parents or older siblings or neighbors)
*We find SOMETHING we know they hate or don’t want to do.
*We offer to do it for them and get paid afterward.
As kids…
We don’t need “leads.”
We just go offer our help.
We don’t need a market study.
We are already familiar with our market.
We hear Dad constantly complain about his sore back and how he hurts after raking up leaves.
We know Mom leaves baskets of clean unfolded laundry for days because her arthritis makes it hard for her to fold the laundry.
We know Mrs. Smith’s lawn is getting tall because her husband passed away and she’s getting up in years.
We don’t need a mountain of motivation because we LOVE the people we offer to help.
We LOVE to see them smile after we help them out.
Plus, we get paid moolah after when we deliver.
Do you see what I’m suggesting?
Let’s start thinking like kids again!
I’ll give you some examples.
I will also add a twist.
Let’s roll…
Because the kid's way is a much faster way to get started, but kids don’t think much about “scaling” or doing it long-term.
STEP 1: Start with a group of people you love or at least like so much you CAN’T stop thinking about them!
Motivation doesn’t come from money. Money is just pieces of paper with pictures of dead people on them…or even more boring…electronic digits in a digital bank account.
If you’re like me…
You will never be motivated to “make money” even if that money is for a good cause.
If you’re like me…
You are motivated by the cause, NOT the money.
To find natural motivation, let’s skip the “middle man” which is money.
Let’s go right to the source!
People!
People we really, really dig!
I’ve made the try and get motivated by money mistakes for years.
I was in niches like beekeeping, home improvement, vertical jumping, restaurant coupons and more…
The problem was…
Beekeepers are a fine group, but I don’t think about them often.
I was never motivated to figure out what keeps beekeepers up at night because I didn’t care much.
Almost weekly…
I get someone asking me how to “revive” a dead list or dormant group.
My answer is: DON’T!
Because I know they don’t CARE about the people in that group.
They’re just tryna make some money.
Someone just this week asked about a list he hasn’t mailed since 2018.
He likely hasn’t mailed them in 5 years because he doesn’t love them that much.
That’s okay.
We can’t make EVERYONE a priority or nobody is a priority.
But being in a “tight spot” financially is a poor reason to “reactivate” a list.
He stopped being MOTIVATED in 2018 or before if he ever was.
Motivation comes naturally when you’re doing something for someone else you can’t stop thinking about.
I can’t stop thinking about business people and internet marketers.
Internet Marketers get a bad rap a lot of times.
But I LOVE THEM!
I invite them to my home.
I eat at the same table with them.
I can talk to them until the wee hours of the morning.
I can NOT stop thinking about them.
This makes step 2 of 4 a breeze…
