Do toilet seats attract asses?
I humbly reject the idea that human beings are magnets.
We don't so much attract what we've got in our lives as much as we get what we ALLOW, TOLERATE or SETTLE for.
Nature is chock full of examples:
If you want a garden full of zucchini...and you allow dandelions, briar patches and honeysuckle to grow in your garden, doesn't it make sense that you won't have much zucchini before too long?
(And there's nothing "wrong" with dandelions or honeysuckle.)
If you want to earn $1000 an hour "fruit", but you continually tolerate $15 an hour bushes, $150 an hour trees or any fruit other than $1000 an hour in your garden...doesn't it make sense that you'll end up making what you allow in your financial plot of land?
(And there's nothing "wrong" with any set amount of money.)
If you want VIBRANT HEALTH...but you allow loads of sugar, little rest and lots of stress into your garden...can you see how you may produce something other than vibrant health?
(And there's nothing "wrong" with sugar, no sleep and stress as long as you know WHY you're growing what you're growing in your health garden.)
If you want a garden that sprouts LOVING RELATIONSHIPS...and you allow judgment, blame and resentment to grow...aren't you likely going to choke out the relationship?
IMPORTANT: Please don't be in a hurry to DISCARD people BEFORE observing how much "judgement" may be popping up in your garden. It seems that the 1st thing many want to do is "get rid of" the "negative people" in their lives. And I'm not saying this can't be a wise choice, but maybe look deeper.
Here's the thang...the way I see it...(and I know it's a bit radical.)
It may SEEM like a person who is VERY CLEAR on what he/she will or won't tolerate in their life is ATTRACTING what they want in their life.
But it's an illusion...
Toilet seats don't attract asses.
If you put an observer on toilet observation, it may sure appear like porcelain attracts butts, but that is NOT what's happening.
Basketball hoops don't attract basketballs.
And...
The sun does not revolve around the Earth.
A consciously designed life is an ACTIVE PURSUIT of conditions that allow what you want (like soil, water and sunlight in a garden), ACTIVE PLANTING of what you want (seeds) and ACTIVE REJECTION of things you don't want (like pulling weeds, getting rid of varmints, etc.).
I can't speak for everybody, but my life took off once I stopped trying to attract zucchinis with my "magnetism.”
Rooting For You,
Travis
I’ve been thinking about the “cost” of inventory. How “extra” isn’t always a benefit. And this post is helping me gain more clarity.
There’s a cost to compromise. A cost of allowing non-ideal opportunities.
It’s the like the phrase, good is enemy of the great.
For some of us... the habit of allowing “survival” or scarcity opportunities ($100) has made it hard to see how it hinders abundance ($1000)
Thanks Travis!
